• Must start your lien within 45 days or you lose your claim.
• Takes approximately 31 to 41 days to clear.

Long Lien-worth more than $4000

• Must have authorization from DMV before a sale date can be set.
• Can take 60-120 days for DMV to get the authorization.
• Must mail all notices by Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested.
• Must advertise the sale by running a newspaper ad no more than 20 days and no less than 5 days before the sale. Ad need only run one day and the newspaper must be a paper with general circulation in the county of the sale.
